These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MailFade (the “Service”), provided by the operator of mailfade.dev. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

MailFade is a developer tool that provides programmatic access to disposable inboxes for testing, quality-assurance, and AI-agent evaluation purposes. The Service exposes an HTTP API at api.mailfade.dev and a catch-all SMTP destination on the mailfade.dev domain (and on customer-supplied custom domains for qualifying plans).

2. Acceptable use

You may use the Service to receive email at addresses you control or generate for testing purposes. You may not use the Service to:

  • Register accounts at third-party services in violation of those services’ terms.
  • Receive mail intended for another person without their consent.
  • Conduct credential-stuffing, account-takeover, phishing, spam, or any unlawful activity.
  • Resell, sublicense, or rebrand the Service without a written agreement.

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have violated these Terms.

3. Free tier

The free tier is provided as-is for evaluation and small projects. We make no availability guarantees for the free tier, and may rate- limit, throttle, or remove free-tier access at any time.

4. Paid plans

Paid plans are billed in advance, either as a monthly card subscription or as a one-time top-up paid in Bitcoin via Lightning. Plans renew automatically when paid by card, and do not renew when paid by Lightning. Card customers may cancel at any time from the billing portal; remaining time on the period is not refunded except as described in our refund policy on the pricing page.

5. Data and retention

The Service stores received email messages and their attachments for a plan-specific retention window, after which they are deleted. We do not back up your messages. Treat MailFade as ephemeral by design.

We do not sell, share, or analyze the contents of received email for marketing or training purposes. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-handling description.

6. Custom domains

If you bring your own domain to MailFade, you are responsible for the domain’s DNS configuration and for any data you receive at that domain. You represent that you have the legal right to receive mail at the domain you connect.

7. No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular message will be received, stored, or delivered.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailFade and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the blog at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
